We keep this short on purpose. Here’s what we collect, why, and who we share it with.
Who we are
Arty Possum sells illustrated bookmarks online from Queensland, Australia. We handle personal information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.

What we collect
- When you order: name, email, phone, billing and shipping address, and order details.
- When you pay: payment details are entered directly with our payment providers. We never see or store your full card number.
- When you contact us or subscribe: name, email and whatever you write to us.
- When you browse: IP address, browser and device info, pages viewed, and similar analytics data collected via cookies.
Why we use it
To process and ship your order, handle returns and support, send order updates, run the site and keep it secure, send marketing emails if you’ve opted in, and understand how the site is used so we can improve it.
Who we share it with
We only share what’s needed, with:
- Stripe and PayPal — to process payments.
- FunnelKit — to run checkout, cart recovery and order-related or marketing emails.
- Google Analytics — website traffic and usage analytics.
- Microsoft Clarity — session and interaction analytics to see how pages are used.
- Meta (Facebook) Pixel — advertising and measurement.
- Our web host, shipping carriers, and email provider, so we can run the store and deliver your order.
Some of these providers are overseas (mainly the United States), so your information may be stored or processed outside Australia. We don’t sell your personal information.
Cookies and tracking
We use cookies for essential site functions (cart, checkout, login) and for analytics and advertising. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though the store may not work properly without the essential ones. You can also opt out of Google Analytics with Google’s browser add-on, and adjust ad preferences in your Facebook settings.
Marketing emails
We only send marketing emails if you’ve opted in or bought from us. Every email has an unsubscribe link, and we’ll act on it.
How long we keep it
Order and transaction records are kept for at least 7 years to meet Australian tax and business record-keeping requirements. Other information is kept only as long as we need it.
Security
We use SSL encryption, reputable hosting and payment providers, and limit who can access customer data. No online system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.
Your rights
You can ask us to access, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you, or unsubscribe from marketing at any time. Email us at [email protected] and we’ll respond within a reasonable timeframe.
Children
Our products are made for kids, but the store is intended for adults. We don’t knowingly collect personal information from children.
Complaints
If you think we’ve mishandled your information, contact us first. If you’re not satisfied, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The current version is always on this page, with the date at the top.
